This event was awesome! I met alot of cool people and learned so much. Here are the following sessions I attended:
How to create Wordpress theme in 20 minutes – Brett Bumeter
I learned about a program called Artisteer, that creates Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, etc themes. It seems very simple to use. Brett had used it with great success. It only cost $50 for home version and $129 for the standard version. I’ll be reviewing this product in a future Inspirageek episode once I have a chance to try it out.
Progressive Enhancement - Aaron Gustafson
The title of this session was a bit confusing. Many of us didn’t know what to think of the title but I went to it anyways. I guess that is just the allure of an obscure title. And it turns out the session was about progressice enhancement with css. The speaker showed how to keep a website from degrading overtime. A very enlightening session for me and many others. (Session slides)
Advanced WordPress Techniques – Mitch Canter
This was one of the best session of the day! Mitch changed up his usual presentation style a bit by not showing slides. However, the session turned into an awesome Q&A about all things Wordpress. He also gave and showed us many tips that every Wordpress blogger should know about. All in all, this was one of the best sessions of the day!
CSS For Mobile – Daniel Ryan
This was the last session of the day for me. Daniel is the one who did a very good job on the mobile version of the Barcamp Chattanooga website. I learned much about css for mobile devices. Mobile is the future!
I’ll definitely be giving a session next year! I can’t wait!
